Herein Privacy Policy Updated September 27, 2026 Herein helps you collect and organize the photos, videos, Live Photos and audio you choose. On-device collection Your imported files, previews and details such as titles, dates, cameras and locations are stored on your device. Photo library access is used only for imports or saves you initiate. Herein does not request your device's current location. Places are matched using coordinates embedded in files or details you enter, with an offline gazetteer. You can edit or clear these details. Cloud Storage Cloud Storage is optional. When you sign in, your Apple account identifier distinguishes your private collection. Media files and their details are transferred to storage and databases provided by Volcengine for backup, restoration and sync. We do not receive your Apple password. Transfers use HTTPS. Cloud files are isolated by account and accessed through expiring links. Signing out does not delete cloud data. External tools Only tools you authorize may read or organize your collection within the permissions you grant. If you allow original downloads, the original files and their embedded dates, camera details and GPS metadata are shared with that tool. The tool's own privacy policy governs its use of this data. You can revoke access in Settings > Connections. Copies already downloaded cannot be recalled; download links already issued may remain valid for up to 15 minutes. Retention and deletion Data is kept for as long as needed to provide the collection service. Items in Recently Deleted can be restored; permanent deletion cannot be undone. You can request account deletion in Cloud Storage to remove your cloud collection and connections. Downloaded local files and originals in your system photo library are not deleted. Originals stored only in the cloud will no longer be downloadable, so export anything you want to keep first. System backup copies follow the relevant platform's backup policies. Service operation To protect sign-in and API access, the service processes necessary access records, request status and usage. These are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Herein has no public feed, does not publicly publish your collection and does not sell personal data. Your rights You can view, edit or delete item details in the app, and request account deletion in Cloud Storage.
